DO YOU BELIEVE IN SECOND CHANCES?

The Second Prison Project™ is a movement of people who believe in second chances. Once a sentence is paid in full, we believe everyone deserves an opportunity at a second chance.

For the 65 million people in the United States with a criminal record, the consequences for a past mistake never end. Even after “paying their debt to society,” these men and women continue to face systematic and arbitrary life-long barriers to second chance opportunities. This tradition of perpetual punishment has undermined the American value of self-sufficiency and imposed second class citizenship on millions of our family members, church members, neighbors, and friends. It is time that we bring an end to perpetual punishment in America.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

Together we can create a world with no second prison, where those with a criminal record are valued and freed to give back at their highest potential.
